Mindful Skiing

Enjoy a mindful skiing or snowboarding weekend in the French Alps near Geneva. From Thur 16 – Sun 19 March & Thur 23 – Sun 26 March experience skiing or snowboarding in a new way – that’s both energising and relaxing.

This long weekend in the mountains is intended to introduce participants to mindful skiing and snowboarding. This means skiing or snowboarding in flow – feeling fully present and aware of your movements, sensations and surroundings. You’ll learn to leave interfering thoughts or worries behind in a cloud of snow from every turn.

Paying attention to the present moment and noticing what’s happening with your thoughts and emotions will allow you to experience snow sports in a new way, enabling mind and body to feel energised and relaxed.

The emphasis of these mindful skiing breaks is on focusing attention and awareness and on quality of sensation, rather than on speed or adrenaline rush. It’s ideal for skiers and boarders who are comfortable on red pistes.

Sally-Anne will teach and guide breathing and focusing techniques that can be applied both on the ski slopes and anywhere else, any time. The days on the mountain will be spent exploring the Grand Massif ski area – only 75 minutes from Geneva airport – which has 265kms of pistes and a wide variety of picturesque terrain.

Participants will stay at the Alps Coaching luxury chalet, Maison La Cerisaie, in the authentic Alpine village of Sixt Fer à Cheval, classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France. They will have the option of participating in guided mindfulness meditation off the slopes. Snowshoeing will also be available in the spectacular scenery surrounding the chalet.

The cost of 565€ per person includes 3 nights’ half board accommodation and 2 days’ accompanied skiing. It doesn’t include flights, airport transfers, equipment hire, ski passes.
